The wait is almost over for fans of rugged, no-nonsense utility vehicles! Mahindra is all set to launch the highly anticipated Bolero facelift and Bolero Neo facelift on October 6, 2025. These updates aim to blend the Bolero’s legendary toughness with modern style and features, keeping these iconic SUVs competitive in the bustling Indian market, especially in tier-2 and tier-3 cities where the Mahindra Bolero is king.
Mahindra Bolero Neo Facelift

The Bolero Neo gets the majority of the cosmetic love. Externally, the most notable update is the redesigned front fascia, featuring a new grille with horizontal slats instead of the older vertical ones, and a reworked front bumper. It’s also expected to get a fresh set of alloy wheels in the higher trims.
Inside the cabin, things look more premium. We’re expecting a new dual-tone black and brown interior theme. Crucially, the Neo is likely to get a bigger touchscreen infotainment system (possibly up to 10-inches) that should support modern connectivity features like Android Auto and Apple CarPlay—a feature that was a big miss in the current model, and highly requested by potential buyers.
Mahindra Bolero Facelift
The classic Mahindra Bolero is keeping its famously boxy, rugged style, but with subtle tweaks. Expect a slightly updated front grille and bumper, maintaining its metal bonnet and upright stance. Interestingly, some reports suggest it might get a black exterior finish for the first time. The interior will also see an upgrade, including a new infotainment system (though maybe not with smartphone connectivity on the base model) and new seat upholstery to boost comfort.
What About Specs ?
Good news for those who value reliability: there are no major mechanical changes expected.
- Bolero Neo: Continues with the proven 1.5-litre mHawk100 diesel engine, producing around 100 bhp and 260 Nm of torque. It will stick to a 5-speed manual gearbox and its rear-wheel-drive (RWD) setup with the handy Multi-Terrain Technology (MTT), which helps with grip.
- Bolero: Will also retain its 1.5-litre mHawk75 diesel engine, generating 75 bhp and 210 Nm of torque, paired with a 5-speed manual.
While official pricing for the new models is yet to be announced, they are expected to be launched at a slight premium over the current generation. The current Mahindra Bolero price starts around Rs 8.79 Lakh, and the Bolero Neo price starts around Rs 8.92 Lakh (ex-showroom). The market anticipates the new models will likely start around the same bracket, offering exceptional value for a body-on-frame SUV.
Social media and automotive forums are buzzing with anticipation. Fans are excited about the modern interiors and the bigger touchscreen in the Bolero Neo, which many felt was essential to compete with other sub-4m SUVs. The consistent popularity of both Bolero models—especially in markets that demand strong, reliable, and easily repairable vehicles—means this launch is set to be another strong seller for Mahindra. The general expectation is that these facelifts will strengthen the Bolero brand’s grip as the ultimate workhorse SUV.
Indian markets see increasing demands for SUVs. Earlier, we had mentioned about Tata’s 3 SUV launch early next year.
