In a significant stride towards accelerating India’s electric mobility revolution, Indofast Energy, a prominent battery-swapping solutions provider, has joined forces with electric two-wheeler manufacturer e-Sprinto. The ambitious partnership aims to deploy 20,000 electric two-wheelers (EVs) across the nation by 2026, targeting the burgeoning last-mile delivery and gig economy sectors.

The core of this collaboration lies in integrating e-Sprinto’s rapidly expanding fleet of electric vehicles with Indofast Energy’s extensive battery-swapping network. This synergy is poised to tackle one of the biggest roadblocks for EV adoption: range anxiety and the notorious charging downtime. Imagine a delivery partner, mid-route, needing a quick power-up. Instead of waiting hours to charge, they can simply swap out a depleted battery for a fully charged one in just about two minutes.

This ‘pit stop’ solution is expected to revolutionize operations in quick commerce, e-commerce, and food delivery. By establishing crucial battery-swapping infrastructure along high-demand corridors, the partnership promises to significantly slash operating costs for businesses and ensure uninterrupted service for India’s vital gig economy workforce.

Anant Badjatya, CEO of Indofast Energy, expressed enthusiasm about the alliance, stating that partnering with an OEM like e-Sprinto, which shares their vision for a sustainable and accessible electric future, will expand their reach across diverse customer segments and accelerate ambitious EV deployment targets. This move also signifies a strategic shift for Indofast Energy, a 50:50 joint venture between IndianOil Corporation Ltd and SUN Mobility, as it transitions from a B2B-focused model to a broader customer-facing EV mobility network.

Indofast Energy is not new to the game, boasting a network of over 1,000 battery-swapping stations across 10 states and 22 cities in India. Their roadmap includes deploying 2,750 swap stations and supporting 1.5 lakh vehicles by March 2026, with a long-term mission of establishing 10,000 swapping points across more than 40 Indian cities in the next three years. They have already established successful tie-ups with other EV and logistics players such as Zypp Electric, Omega Seiki Mobility, Shadowfax, Triev, Wickedride, and Green Drive.

On the flip side, Atul Gupta, Co-founder and Director of e-Sprinto, highlighted the game-changing nature of the collaboration. He emphasized that Indofast Energy’s extensive battery-swapping network perfectly complements their vehicles, offering unparalleled convenience and efficiency to customers. He confidently stated that by deploying 20,000 vehicles with Indofast Energy by 2026, this partnership will undoubtedly make electric mobility the preferred choice for both commercial and personal transportation across India.
