Companies like Hyundai, Tata Motors, Mahindra, Toyota, and even luxury brands like BMW and Mercedes-Benz have officially announced price cuts. Unsoo Kim, Managing Director of Hyundai Motor India, welcomed the move as a “far-sighted step” that will make personal mobility more affordable, while Anand Mahindra of Mahindra & Mahindra hailed the reforms for their “far-reaching positive impact.”
The price reductions are effective from September 22, but many automakers have already begun accepting bookings at the new, lower rates. The savings are substantial. For instance, the Mahindra XUV 3XO is cheaper by up to ₹1.56 lakh, the Toyota Fortuner sees a massive price drop of ₹3.49 lakh, and the Tata Nexon is now more affordable by up to ₹1.55 lakh. Luxury car buyers can also rejoice, with the Mercedes-Benz S-Class becoming cheaper by a staggering ₹11 lakh. Other models poised to become cheaper include the Tata Punch, Hyundai Creta, Maruti Suzuki Swift, and Toyota Innova Hycross.
